Meet the Facilitators

Ashleigh Barkans has been in the Medical Device Industry for over 10 years.  Started her career as an Investigator with the Food and Drug Administration.  During her time with the FDA she focused primarily on Medical Devices and conducted inspections both domestically and internationally.  Ashleigh was with the FDA about 7 years before joining Terumo BCT as a Quality System Compliance Auditor where she focused on Supplier Management.  She then moved into the role of Global Process owner for Quality Governance where she helped in the development of a global Quality Management System.  She is now the Director of Quality and Regulatory for GID BIO, Inc. a biotechnology company located in Louisville, CO.

Ashleigh is the Founder of Core Quality Consulting, LLC.

In addition to regulatory and compliance work Ashleigh has a passion for teaching and enjoys helping people embrace and understand the regulations.

Matthew has refined his professional skills working within FDA regulated industries, including pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device, as a quality professional over the last 20+ years. His educational background is heavily weighted in the sciences and engineering.  Later in his career, Matthew earned his Masters of Engineering degree in Engineering Management and his career path shifted more toward team management, motivational leadership and business culture.  He enjoys sharing his industry knowledge and experience, excels at coaching teams and individuals, and thrives when creating environments where individuals and teams can feel safe to learn and grow.

Matthew’s personal interests include music, cycling (road and mountain), travel and spending time with family and friends.

Matthew is currently Director of Quality System Compliance for Terumo Corporation and is also the Owner and Managing Director of Intentional Quality Services, LLC based in Aurora, Colorado.
